Mercedes-Benz W222 Exterior Door Handle Assembly A2227602200 - Used Original Parts

Diagnosis and Common Symptoms

The A2227602200 door handle assembly frequently suffers from water intrusion leading to the degradation of the integrated Keyless-Go capacitive sensors and internal microswitches. When these internal electronics fail, the primary symptom is a complete loss of proximity lock and unlock functionality on the affected door. Drivers will typically encounter "Key Not Detected" warnings on the instrument cluster when attempting to enter or start the vehicle. Within the XENTRY diagnostic system, technicians will often pull fault codes such as B2103 or B2104, indicating an open circuit or malfunction in the door handle component. In advanced stages of failure, a shorted sensor inside the handle can keep the vehicle's CAN bus awake, resulting in severe parasitic battery drain through the SAM control unit.
