The ECU, also known as the Engine Control Module or Engine Control Unit, is the central computer that manages how your Mercedes engine runs. It controls fuel injection, ignition timing, idle speed, and communicates with other modules across the car. When it fails, the symptoms range from rough idling and misfires to the car refusing to start entirely.
Buying a replacement ECU for a Mercedes is not as simple as buying a mechanical part. The module must match your engine variant, chassis, and in some cases needs to be coded to your vehicle after installation. Getting the wrong unit wastes money and time.
