Frequently Asked Questions

What are the signs that my car needs an engine overhaul?

Common signs include excessive engine oil consumption (white smoke), knocking noises from the engine, severe overheating history, and loss of power.

Do you repair gearbox mechatronic units for BMW and Mercedes?

Yes, we specialize in diagnosing and repairing mechatronic units (TCU) for ZF 8-speed (BMW) and 7G-Tronic/9G-Tronic (Mercedes) transmissions to fix jerking issues.

How long does a full engine overhaul take?

A full engine overhaul typically takes between 7 to 14 days, as it involves complete disassembly, cleaning, machining, parts replacement, and rigorous testing.

How much does an engine overhaul cost?

The cost of an engine overhaul depends on whether you need a Top Overhaul (the upper part of the engine only) or a Full Overhaul (the complete engine block), and which parts need to be replaced. Because every engine has a different level of damage, we inspect your car first and give you a clear quotation before the work starts. You only pay for what is needed. Contact us using the WhatsApp button on this page for an inspection.

Engine overhaul vs replacement: which is better?

An overhaul rebuilds your original engine block, keeping matching engine numbers and often costing less than a full replacement, ideal when the block is still sound. A replacement (half-cut or reconditioned unit) makes more sense only when the block itself is cracked or beyond repair. We inspect your engine and honestly recommend the option that gives you the best value and reliability.

What is the difference between Top Overhaul and Full Overhaul?

A Top Overhaul repairs the upper part of the engine (the cylinder head, valves and head gasket), usually to fix overheating or oil-and-water mixing. A Full Overhaul goes deeper into the engine block, including pistons, rings, bearings and crankshaft, and is done for high oil consumption ('eating oil') or severe wear.

Do you provide a warranty, and how long does an overhaul take?

Yes, we provide a warranty on both parts and labour for all major engine and gearbox overhauls. A Top Overhaul usually takes 3–5 days, while a Full Overhaul takes about 7–14 days because it involves complete disassembly, machining, careful measurement and run-in testing before we hand the car back.
